27,000 cases among heathcare staff
Fifteen healthcare staff of Covid-19 have died since the pandemic began last March.
The latest figures from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) issued today show healthcare workers represent 0.3% of deaths in all Covid-19 cases notified in Ireland between March 2020 and February, 2021.
The number of cases of Covid-19 among healthcare workers totalled 27,148 over the past year.
The overall summary report on 4,319 deaths in Ireland over the past year includes 94 per cent of confirmed cases; 166 possible and 93 probable deaths associated with Covid-19.
The percentage of deaths among 4,060 confirmed cases was 1.85 per cent.
The incidence rate of confirmed deaths per 100,000 population is reported as 85.26.
