The incident took place at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh railway station on Friday night, RPF inspector Vijay Shankar said.

Three men were hit by the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani express while crossing the tracks at the Dhanbad railway division in Jharkhand, an official said.

The incident took place at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh railway station on Friday night, RPF inspector Vijay Shankar said.

“They passed under the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani express, which does not stop at Gomoh station, as they crossed the tracks to reach platform number 3. The impact of the collision was such that body parts were scattered in a 500m radius from the location,” the officer said.

“The victims were identified as Manoj Sab (19), Shiv Charan Sab (20) and Babloo Kumar (20). They disembarked from passenger Asansol-Gomoh at platform 4 and were crossing the tracks to reach platform 3. Their relatives identified them by their clothes early Saturday,” he said.

The movement of the train on the upline was stopped to collect the body parts, and the Sealdah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express and several other trains passed through on the downline.

Shiv Charan and Babloo Kumar worked in Dhanbad and had gone to Gomoh to attend Sadanand Mela.
