Inside pub abandoned in the middle of the night 20 years ago

A curious local discovered an abandoned Biriths pub, infested with mould believed to have devloped across the span of nearly two decades since it was left. What’s most shocking is the remaining pint still up for grabs, standing free on the dusty counter. Explorer Sean Piper visited the building, known as The Harrow, just a few weeks ago. Located in kent, the pub first shutdown 19 years ago in 2006 after the owning chain entered administration.

The building has been sitting empty ever since. “I’ve visited the site a few times as it’s local to me,” Sean, who shared a video with his fans online @‌seanurbex, told NeedToKnow. “The decay gets worse every time,” he added, sharing that it was “a special feeling finding something just by driving past like you’ve discovered the hidden past”.

“The first thing that hit me as I walked through the conservatory door was the smell. The damp and mould was severe. It was like the business shut overnight and people were expecting to return,” he continued, describing how the pub’s entrance was completely overgrown, with greenery having long ago reclaimed the building.

The urban explorer noted that several doors at the pub seem to have been left open.

Inside, the tables are still set up with menus and some areas of the pub appear to be almost completely intact.

Even the bar has been left stocked, with bottles of booze and a poured pint still on the counter.

The Harrow also offered rooms for overnight guests to book.

These have not held up as well.

The room are covered in mould and damp and the ceiling has completely eroded in some places.
