Pop music and football stars will team up this autumn to give thousands of youngsters a shot at a brighter future. They will front a high-profile campaign to bring education, sport, training and life-changing opportunities to some of Britain’s toughest areas.

Chart-topping singers Tom Grennan and Gabrielle will perform live at a fundraising gala hosted by football pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. The event – dubbed Football for Change – is aimed at tackling child poverty by supporting organisations which make a tangible difference to young lives.

The initiative has already raised more than £1.5million to support grassroots charities and community projects working with kids who may not otherwise get a chance in life.

Its efforts so far have been backed by celebrities including Sir Rod Stewart, Noel Gallager, Boy George, Paloma Faith. Sir David Beckham, Dominik Szoboslai and Wayne Rooney.

Co-founder and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said: “Football has the power to inspire and bring people together, but it also has the ability to create real change.

“Every year we’re overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who supports Football For Change, and this year’s gala promises to be our biggest yet.

“The funds raised will help grassroots organisations continue their incredible work, giving young people opportunities they may never otherwise have had.”

The annual extravaganza will return to Liverpool on November 14 and will be hosted by TV presenter Mark Wright.

Surinder Dubro, of chief sponsors DSV, said: “We are proud to partner with the 2026 Football For Change Gala and support a fantastic initiative that is helping transform the lives of young people facing poverty through the power of football.”

Tickets and hospitality packages for the Football For Change Gala are available now, with businesses and individuals invited to support an evening that celebrates the power of sport to change lives.
