Horror as huge fire erupts in London as thick black smoke fills sky

-Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to a fire at a hotel on Empire Way in Wembley.

-London Fire Brigade received the first of 29 calls reporting the blaze at 12.34pm.

-Crews from Park Royal, Willesden, Northolt and surrounding fire stations were sent to the scene.

-Dramatic footage from the area showed thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.

-Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 1.21pm.

-Crews are remaining at the scene this afternoon to extinguish remaining pockets of fire.

-The cause of the fire is under investigation.

-London Fire Brigade has not yet publicly named the hotel involved.
