Major motorway shut and police dispatched as drivers hit by 80-minute delays

Motorists on the M25 are facing major delays on Thursday following incidents involving two HGVs. Two lanes out of four were closed on the motorway between junctions J5 and J6 in Surrey.

National Highways said on X the closure was due to a “collision involving two HGVs”. Their message also read: “Traffic officers and recovery are on scene. There are delays of 80 minutes and 6 miles of congestion on the approach.” The Daily Express understands Surrey Police attended a broken-down HGV, while a truck lost its load in the carriageway.
