Alleged thied stuck in roof cavity

Caloundra detectives have arrested a man after he became trapped inside a roof cavity during an alleged break and enter.

An alleged thief was busted in the early hours of the morning after allegedly becoming stuck for hours in the roof cavity of the building he intended to break into.

Staff reported hearing noises from a person inside the rear toilet block of a hotel in Landsborough, north of Brisbane, about 6am on Wednesday.

Police were called and discovered the alleged thief stuck in the building’s roof cavity.

Police allege the man had gained entry to another room of the hotel via the roof, causing damage to equipment and roof sheeting.

He has been charged with break and enter and will appear at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday.
