HSBC exec criticizes ‘weak’ UK for siding with US against China

HSBC Holdings PlcThe public affairs chief criticized the US for forcing the UK to cut trade dealings with China and accused the British government of being “weak” for agreeing.

Sherard Cowper-Coles he told attendees at a closed-door event in London in June that the UK would often bow to Washington’s demands and should not blindly follow the US to be identified because the event was private.
