Australia 351 of 7 (Green 50*, Warner 48, Inglis 48, Mir 2-31) won Pakistan 337 (Babar 90, Iftikhar 83, Labuschagne 3-78) by 14 runs
But rather than ending the match quickly, Australia decided they wanted to squeeze a little more juice out of this warm-up. In the next 20 overs or so they resorted to part-time spin from Labuschagne and Maxwell, and even more part-time spin from Steve Smith and David Warner. The latter almost trapped Iftikhar with a full toss, but once Josh Inglis dismissed it, carnage ensued.
With 21 to go in the last three overs and a wicket in hand, Cummins turned to Labuschagne once again. They conceded six from their first three balls, before Hasan Ali’s effort found Mitchell Marsh at long-range, ending a chaotic match in which Australia claimed a victory that could easily have been more comfortable, had they wanted it that way. .
