CHICAGO (CBS) – A United Airways flight was pressured to return to O’Hare Airport after a upkeep challenge Saturday morning.
Flight 2137 on Airbus 320 was heading to Salt Lake Metropolis Worldwide Airport when a potential oil warning gentle challenge occurred, the Federal Aviation Administration mentioned.
5 crew members and 149 passengers have been on board on the time.
The flight landed safely round 11 a.m., and passengers have been deplaned on the gate. Prospects have been in a position to depart for Salt Lake Metropolis on a brand new plane.
It has been a troublesome week for airways, particularly Chicago-based United.
On Friday night time, a United flight from San Francisco to Mexico Metropolis made an emergency touchdown in Los Angeles due to a difficulty with the hydraulic system.
Earlier Friday, a United airplane veered off the runway after touchdown in Houston.
On Thursday, two automobiles on the bottom have been broken when a wheel fell off a United Flight out of San Francisco.
And an American Airways airplane pushing again from the gate clipped a parked Frontier jet.
On Monday, a United flight caught hearth after bubble wrap bought sucked into the engine.
The FAA is investigating all of those incidents.
In the meantime, the Justice Division is investigating the Jan. 5 door blowout on an Alaska Airways flight. At challenge is whether or not Boeing has adopted the phrases of a deferred prosecution settlement. Boeing entered that settlement and paid $2.5 billion following two lethal crashes involving 737 Max planes in 2017 and 2018.
