A mishap with a cockpit seat could have thrust the pilot into the controls of a Boeing Co. 787 aircraft flying to New Zealand this week, triggering the sudden plunge that injured 50 passengers, the Wall Road Journal reported, citing US officers acquainted with the investigation.
A flight attendant serving a meal on the Latam flight hit a swap on the seat, propelling the pilot ahead and pushing down the plane’s nostril, the newspaper mentioned. In line with the report, the swap is fitted with a canopy and isn’t meant to be pressed if an individual is within the seat.
