London — UK police attended a yoga class in central England after a member of the public saw people lying on the ground and denounced a “mass murder.”
The officers rushed to the scene with their sirens blaring only to find members of the class meditating in silence.
The Seaside Café inside the North Sea Observatory in Chapel St Leonards said a concerned member of the public raised the alarm on Wednesday night after becoming concerned.
“If anyone heard the crowd of police sirens in Chapel St Leonards last night at 9:30pm, rest easy,” said a facebook post saying. “They were on their way to the Observatory after someone reported a mass murder in our building, after they had seen several people lying on the floor… which actually turned out to be yoga meditation class.”
The cafe regularly offers yoga classes in the evenings and noted in its social media post that it is “not part of any cult or crazy club.”
Lincolnshire Police said the emergency call was made “with good intentions”.
