India has recorded 1,580 new covid infections, while active cases have dropped to 18,009 from 19,613, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
The COVID-19 case count in the country now stands at Rs 4.49 crore (4,49,76,599).
The death toll has risen to 5,31,753 with 12 deaths which includes those reconciled by Kerala, according to the data updated at 8 a.m.
Active cases comprise 0.04% of total infections.
The National COVID-19 The recovery rate was recorded at 98.77 percent, the ministry said, adding that the number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,44,28,417, while the case fatality rate was 1.18 per cent. hundred.
According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crores of doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the national vaccination campaign.
