Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) says donald trump spoke volumes when he refused to say whether he called in any military or police authorities to quell the January 6, 2021, attack while it was underway.
“I thought that was one of the most revealing exchanges in the interview, because he didn’t say who he called, because he didn’t call anyone to end this,” Schiff said. cnn‘s Jim Acosta on Sunday.
“He sat there for hours watching the Capitol get attacked. “She sat there, in the comfort and safety of the White House dining room, and watched the chaos unfold,” he added. “People came to urge him. do something, say something, and he rejected them. No wonder he doesn’t want to answer the question.”
Schiff was talking about Trump’s interview with “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker, which aired Sunday.
During one particularly scandalous exchange, Trump sought to blame Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) over the Capitol riot, claiming that the then-House speaker was “in charge of security” and could have prevented the violence if she had accepted Trump’s offer days before bringing in the National Guard.
This is false on many levels and has been completely discredited. For starters, the Speaker of the House is not in charge of Capitol security, and there is no evidence that Trump ever issued such a directive.

Trump made Pelosi’s claim as Welker repeatedly pressed him to say whether he called in the military or law enforcement to control the violence while the Capitol was under attack.
“I’m not going to tell you anything,” Trump said.
Schiff said Pelosi’s fault was “also typical” of the former president.
“It does nothing more than project onto others their own lack of action, their lack of morality, but that doesn’t fool anyone,” he said.
In your own answer To Trump’s comments, Pelosi said something similar.
“He knows he’s responsible for it, so he projects it onto others,” she told MSNBC on Sunday.
