The Adipurush team is ready for the second round. On the occasion of Ram Navami, a new poster for the upcoming mythological epic has been unveiled, featuring Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Sunny Singh as Lakshman. The “divine” poster features the trio, along with actor Devdatta Nage bowing to them as Bajrang.
“The film carries forward the virtue of Prabhu Shri Ram which involves dharma, courage and sacrifice,” read a press release. Although there were reports that the film would be delayed further, the new poster reiterated that the film’s release date remains June 16. The trailer for the film was unveiled in October of last year and was immediately the subject of extreme backlash for its poor visual effects. Adipurush was eventually moved from its planned January release to June 2023 due to additional VFX work.
In an interview with indianexpress.com, critical i say had opened up about how the reaction to the teaser he threw it away because it was not expected. “I think the creators took it seriously, where I think any kind of feedback that comes from people should be heard. Just listen and see how much of that is true and make those corrections if necessary. The fact that they took it in good spirits and the fact that the intent of everyone associated with the film was very, very pure. It’s not just a movie for us, it’s a bit more than that. It’s a movie everyone is extremely proud of, without even knowing what the results will be.”
However, the film’s editor, Ashish Mhatre, in an interview with Times of India said that the team did not any significant changes. “We have not made any alterations to the film after the criticism, we made the film that was already planned… We are following the same path from where we started the film because we have not made any mistakes in the first place, that needs rectification. ”, he was quoted as saying.
Produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Retrophiles’ Rajesh Nair, Adipurush will also be released in IMAX and 3D. The new banner was unveiled in three languages, English, Hindi and Telugu. One part of the caption read: “Mantron se badhke tera naam Jai Shri Ram”. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan like Ravana.
