Agent confirms talks with Kaizer Chiefs for Portugal-based star

Kaizer Chiefs are showing serious intent and determination in this transfer window. An agent of a bright young talent in Portugal has confirmed discussions with Amakhosi.

As The South African website previously reported in the past month, the 12-time PSL champions have shown interest in signing Braga‘s 22-year-old winger Kobamelo Kodisang.

A recent report also revealed that the Portuguese club decided to extend the Rustenburg-born player’s contract for a further two years, but plan to send him out on loan at a club in the lower Portuguese Primeira Division – but Kodisang and his agent, Mike Makaab are refusing that plan.

The duo is pushing for a move back to Mzansi where the winger will play his football under Arthur Zwane on loan.

“Braga did exercise their two-year option but we did know they were going to do it,” Makaab told Simtho Dladla on GagasiFM.

“Because they’ve spent three years developing KK. We’ve made it clear to them that if they don’t see him as a member of their first-team squad, we want him out of the club – either on loan or a permanent transfer.

“Is it possible that he can come back to South Africa? Of course it is. Have we been in discussions with Kaizer Chiefs? Yes, we have.

“Again, it’s very difficult to finalise anything and they [Chiefs] understand that, they are mature. I have a fantastic relationship with the club.

The outspoken Makaab, who is also the agent to players like Knowledge Musona and Kearyn Baccus, took the moment to assure Kaizer Chiefs fans that his company, Prosport International, enjoys a thriving relationship with the Glamour Boys.

“I often say to the supporters, ‘speak to them, don’t speak to me’. [They ask me] ‘why don’t we [Prosport] have players at the club?’ I can’t tell you, but what I can tell you is that when Chiefs won back-to-back titles, Prosport had a big contingent of players in their starting line-up and in their squad.

“For supporters to think that over that period, the six-year period, something has happened to our relationship is absolute nonsense,” he concluded.
