French President Emmanuel Macron wants to reappoint top tech enforcer Thierry Breton as France’s EU commissioner, sources said on Thursday.
Macron’s plans come just three days before a snap vote called by the president after his party’s defeat at the hands of the far right in EU elections early this month.

The French presidency has dismissed any suggestion that the National Rally would have the right to choose France’s candidate, insisting it is purely a choice for Macron.
