AHL forms return-to-play task force to prepare for 2020-21 season – Sportsnet.ca

The American Hockey League has formed a return-to-play task force to address the goal of planning for the league’s return in 2020-21.

Among the members of the task force are AHL president and CEO David Andrews along with a collection of NHL and AHL representatives — including Winnipeg’s Mark Chipman, Toronto’s Kyle Dubas and Edmonton’s Ken Holland — who will help establish a return-to-play process that will be supported by the league and the NHL.

The AHL was forced to cancel its 2019-20 season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and did not name a Calder Cup champion for the first time since 1937.
