ITASCA – AIT Worldwide Logistics said on Thursday it has expanded into the Middle East with a new office in Dubai, the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates.
The new location is an investment in meeting the changing shipping needs of key customers while enhancing the global freight forwarder’s supply chain solutions in the region, the company said.
Ideally located as a central consolidation and distribution point for the Eastern Hemisphere, AIT-Dubai caters to carriers whose supply chains use the increasingly popular multi-modal location to transfer cargo from air to ocean or vice versa, AIT said.
The United Arab Emirates is one of India’s top three trading partners, with much of the cargo going through going to gateway cities such as Chicago, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
The new Dubai office allows for the consolidation of regional operations within the company’s global transportation management system, said Vikram Paul, AIT’s vice president for India and the Middle East.
“Dubai’s location is unrivaled as a crossroads for global trade, and we are delighted to expand AIT’s presence with this strong addition to the global network,” he said.
