PORTLAND, Ore.—A federal probe into Friday’s Alaska Airways flight has began with a give attention to the door plug—nonetheless lacking—that violently blew off the aircraft in midair, leaving a gaping gap in its facet.
Jennifer Homendy, chair of the Nationwide Transportation Security Board, examined the stricken Boeing 737 MAX 9 jet after she arrived in Portland, Ore., on Saturday afternoon. She described a ghostly scene contained in the cabin with seat backs lacking and with clothes scattered round.
