The premiere of Season 2 is set to air on Disney+ on Friday, October 30 from midnight PDT—when it airs in your country will depend on your time difference from the west coast of the U.S.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will have eight episodes which are set to air weekly, meaning that they will be released on the following dates:

  • Episode 3: November 13
  • Episode 4: November 20
  • Episode 5: November 27
  • Episode 6: December 4

Who is in the cast of The Mandalorian Season 2?

Confirmed to be returning for another season are the following:

  • Pedro Pascal – The Mandalorian/Din Djarin
  • Gina Carano – Cara Dune
  • Carl Weathers – Greef Karga
  • Giancarlo Esposito – Moff Gideon

…Plus, of course, The Child/Baby Yoda, much to the relief of toysellers across the world.

According to numerous reports, these cast members will be joined by a number of actors playing characters previously seen in other Star Wars properties. Temeura Morrison, for example, is rumored to be playing the legendary Mandalorian Boba Fett, a role he has played in the Star Wars universe since playing the character in the 2004 DVD version of The Empire Strikes Back.

As confirmed in the trailer, WWE wrestler Sasha Banks is joining the cast in an unspecified role. Also reported to be appearing are Deadwood‘s Timothy Olyphant and Sin City‘s Rosario Dawson, who is rumored to be playing the live-action debut of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano. Olyphant and Dawson were both confirmed in an Instagram story from the Disney+ Germany account.

Also reported to appear are Battlestar Galactica as Clone Wars character Bo-Katan Kryze and The Terminator‘s Michael Biehn in an unknown role – though Carano said of all the casting rumours to Entertainment Weekly, “some of them are true, some are not true.”

What will happen in The Mandalorian Season 2?

The Disney+ plot summary for the new episodes reads: “The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.”

Descriptive as ever from the spoilers-averse Star Wars team, who famously kept Baby Yoda such a secret that they did not have any merch available to capitalize on when he became a phenomenon.

However, we know that the new episodes will follow on from the previous finale, which saw Mando out to find The Child’s own kind while Moff Gideon was revealed to have the Darksaber, a legendary weapon that many, including Ahsoka Tano, want destroyed.

The show’s creator Jon Favreau said of the plot of Season 2: “The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world. The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show. Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.”

The Mandalorian Season 2 starts on Friday, October 30 on Disney+.
