An Australian woman living in the UK has explained why she will never return to her home country.
In the clip, she revealed that she has been living in England for about four years and that every time she tells people that she is from Australia, they are surprised as to why she would move from there, saying that it is so cool and that they would love it. . she sees there.
Speaking in the video, Rhiannon, whose platform handle is @rhiannoncunningham, says: “I get it, you always want what you can’t have, like a ‘grass is greener’ thing.”
—But do you want to know the number one reason why I could never go back there?
“It’s because I’m too attached to my silly little holidays and my little weekend getaways and you literally can’t do that in Australia.”
He goes on to explain how from England it is possible to travel to countries such as Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and many others in a matter of a couple of hours.
Rhiannon adds: “Whereas in Australia, when I used to visit them like my grandparents (they live in Queensland, I lived in Sydney), it was an hour flight and I was still in Australia.
‘I feel like people just don’t understand how big it is. I once drove from Sydney to the Gold Coast. It took me 10 hours.
‘Or, if you want to go from Sydney to Perth… it’s about a five-hour flight. A five-hour flight to be more Australia. No, thanks.’
The other closest country, he continues, is. New Zealand, which is still three or four hours away, followed by Bali, about seven hours away.
She says: “You can’t do it over a weekend… you have to commit to doing it over a week if you want to have a holiday from Australia.”
«Whereas here you have Europe literally around the corner.
‘You can tour Sweden, Finland and all that in about three hours, you can tour Iceland in a couple of hours. Croatia, Greece, if you want something hotter in about three or four hours.
‘Whereas in Australia you are literally trapped. Here (in England), you have so many different cultures and countries at your fingertips. I think even the United States is five or six hours away.
Rhiannon concludes her explanation by saying: ‘There you have everything. So why would I want to go back to Australia and be isolated… away from everything?
‘That’s just not for me right now. I love living in England. I love living in Europe.
“And you guys just don’t understand how much fun you have here.”
