Analyzing the best Dallas-area high school cornerbacks in the Class of 2026

Thirteen cornerbacks appear in the The Dallas Morning News’ area top 100 recruiting rankings for the class of 2026, and all but one of them has committed to a college. North Forney’s Ryan Gilbert tops the list of corner recruits in the rising senior class.

Here’s a breakdown:

No. 36 Ryan Gilbert, North Forney

Gilbert is a three-star SMU commit who holds at least 30 offers, according to 247Sports. He recorded 44 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 4 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles as a junior at North Forney last season.

No. 37 Marcell Gipson, South Oak Cliff

He helped two-time state champion South Oak Cliff to its fourth consecutive state title game last season. Gipson is a three-star Clemson commit who recorded 46 tackles, 26 pass deflections, 5 punt return touchdowns, 3 interceptions and a sack in 2024.

No. 43 Victor Lincoln, Lancaster

Listing 31 offers, Lincoln recently committed to Arkansas. The three-star prospect helped Lancaster secure a playoff berth in its first season in Class 6A he was named second team all-district in District 11-6A.

No. 50 DaQuwan Dunn, Richardson Berkner

The three-star Arizona State commit has experience on both sides of the ball at corner and receiver. Dunn lists 23 offers, according to 247Sports, and is a multi-sport athlete.

No. 51 Braylon Edwards, Duncanville

A first team all-district selection in District 11-6A last season, Edwards helped Duncanville to the 6A Division I state semifinals. The three-star SMU commit recorded 50 tackles, 7 pass break ups and an interception in 2024.

No. 53 Brandon Ford, Crowley

Ford helped Crowley make a historic playoff run in 2024, recording 30 tackles, 15 pass break ups, 9 assists, 2 interceptions and a tackle for loss during his junior season. The District 3-6A first team all-district selection is a three-star Oklahoma State commit.

No. 59 Jack Duckworth, Rockwall

The three-star Stanford commit played on both sides of the ball last season, recording 34 receptions for 472 yards and six touchdowns. Duckworth also had an interception. He lists offers from Arizona State, Arkansas and others.

No. 65 Xaier Hiler, Denton Ryan

Hiler recorded 31 tackles and 5 interceptions in 2024, when Denton Ryan advanced to the 5A Division I state semifinals. He is a three-star Arizona commit.

No. 75 Noah Lewis, Terrell

A three-star Texas Tech commit, Lewis got snaps in all three phases as a junior in 2024. He recorded 42 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 2 blocked kicks, while adding 7 receptions for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns.

No. 80 Jaylen Gordon, Richland

Gordon holds offers from Arizona State, Baylor, SMU and UTEP, according to his 247Sports profile. As a junior in 2024, he recorded 59 total tackles, four tackles for loss, 4 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and three blocked field goals.

No. 85 Maliek Bracy, Argyle

He helped Argyle to the 5A Division II state semifinals in 2024, recording 45 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 7 pass breakups, 5 interceptions and one interception returned for a touchdown. Bracy is a three-star Memphis commit.

No. 86 Kai Wheaton, Allen

Wheaton recorded 20 tackles, 5 pass break ups and a forced fumble for 6A Division I regional finalist Allen last season. The three-star Oregon State commit also holds offers from Arizona, Arkansas, California and others.

No. 88 Mahamadou Siby, Trophy Club Byron Nelson

The three-star Wake Forest commit was a first team all-district corner in District 4-6A last season. Siby had 34 solo tackles and 9 pass break ups.
