Actor Ananya Panday’s house was raided by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) earlier today. She was summoned by the agency for questioning and she reported in the afternoon at the NCB office in Mumbai. The agency questioned her for two hours before letting her go. They also seized her mobile phone and laptop.
Ananya has been summoned again at 11 am tomorrow for questioning. Today, she appeared at the NCB office with her father Chunky Pandey accompanying her.
As per reports, Ananya’s name came up in one of the Whatsapp chats of one of the accused in the drugs on cruise case in which Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been arrested. An NCB officer stated, “Just because she is being questioned does not mean she’s an accused.”
Aryan Khan and the other accused are currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail. Khan has been repeatedly denied bail based on Whatsapp chats. The NCB has admitted that no drugs were found in his possession.
Ananya is best friends with Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan and is known to socialise with other star kids including Aryan Khan.
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan was arrested on October 3 following a raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. On October 20, the special NDPS court rejected Aryan Khan’s bail plea following which he reached High Court to file a bail application. On October 21, Shah Rukh Khan made his first visit to Arthur Road Jail to visit his son. After his visit, it was reported that the Bombay High Court has decided to hear the bail plea on October 26.
