Reform’s Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick said he would redesign welfare and save more than £21billion a year within five years if Nigel Farage’s party win the next General Election.
He has outlined plans to cut entitlements to Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Pension Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Child Benefit, free childcare and disability benefits for foreigners, including EU nationals, in the UK.
Andrew challenged Mr Downie’s criticism of the policy, asking: “Why is it a dog whistle to say foreigners should not be given benefits?
“It does not acknowledge the incredible role that people from other parts of the world play in our economy, who work very well here, who contribute an incredible amount to our economy, to our public, to our public services.”
