After posting a picture in a Víctor López two-piece, former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi was subjected to skinny shaming from an Instagram user on 22 July.
‘YOU CAN START EATING’
In Zonzibini Tunzi’s latest Instagram post, she is seen wearing a two-piece outfit by Latin fashion designer Víctor López. As always, Tunzi was down to earth and admitted that she took many pictures on the day she wore the outfit and hated all of them.
“When you wear a cute outfit and you hate all the photos then one day you’re like…wait a minute! It’s almost giving what it was supposed to give,” wrote Tunzi on Instagram.
While many celebrities and influencers such as Lasizwe Dambuza and Liesl Laurie were gushing over her beauty, a social media user jumped in the comments section to skinny-shame Tunzi by telling her to start eating.
“Miss universe is finished, now you can start eating 😅,” wrote @vino_gavini in the comment section.
‘ARE YOU NOT EMBARRASSED?’ ASKS ZOZIBINI TUNZI
Without losing her cool at the disrespect, the model clapped back by asking the social media user if he isn’t embarrassed by his public body shaming.
“@vino_gavini Are you not embarrassed?,” wrote Tunzi.
While other Instagrammers jumped to the former Miss Universe’s defence.
“@vino_gavini it is so nice to mind your own business, you should try it one day!” wrote @hewing_d.
“@vino_gavini yewena what do you want in people’s eating business? Are you a prophet? Do you know her diet? Listen baked potato if you have nothing to say open a support group of people like you 🔥👏🔥😀😁😁,” wrote @obed_the_magnificent.
“@vino_gavini so you haven’t heard of slender by nature huh? A lot of us eat so much yet don’t gain weight. Chill, and worry about your own body, let our Queen slay,” wrote @“exaucee_banza.
“@zozitunzi some people don’t realize that there are people who are just naturally skinny, #skinnyshamingisreal,” wrote @aolharriet.
CRITICISM AS A PUBLIC FIGURE
Holding the title of Miss Universe and Miss South Africa comes with a substantial amount of criticism. Miss SA, Shudufhadzo Musida was recently accused of receiving special treatment after posting a video of herself walking down an empty room with Wits University vice-chancellor Prof Zeblon Vilakazi handing her what looks like her degree.
Social media users then pinned Musida against Zozibini Tunzi saying the former Miss Universe would not allow herself to receive special treatment while others do not get the same privilege. However, the Miss SA organisation cleared up the accusations by saying that Musida graduated virtually like all other students.
