The baby was seen swimming with mum after it was born off the coast of Burleigh Heads, on the Gold Coast today.
Humpback whales are currently making their annual migration journey north from Antarctica, to the warmer waters of Queensland to mate, give birth and care for their newborns.
Whale season in Queensland is between June and September, with thousands of whales making the journey up the coast, stopping in famed whale watching locations like Hervey Bay, north of Brisbane.
