Barcelona make final decision on Vitor Roque’s future – report

Barcelona have made a final decision on Vitor Roque’s future after a meeting between the club and the player’s agents on Friday. According to Diario SPORT, Barça have decided to let the Brazilian exit on loan for a season to remain in control of his future and allow him to play more minutes elsewhere to help his development.

The young striker missed Saturday’s training session due to illness, and later on the same day the player’s agents and family helped him accept the idea of going away for a year to earn more experience in a top European league. Barça’s Financial Fair Play struggles also make it difficult to register Roque’s contract, which makes an exit even more likely and necessary.

Roque played just 75 total minutes across three preseason games so far, and has been heavily linked with an exit since the end of last season. But the club still believes in his potential and thinks he can develop into a future starter once Robert Lewandowski leaves, so Barça will be willing to part ways only on loan to make sure the Tigrinho will be back in the squad next season.
