Barcelona are prepared to engage in a €40 million battle Bayern Munich for promising Ajax and Brazil youth international Antony, according to UOL Esporte.
Antony, 21, has recorded 12 goals in 53 appearances since an €15.8m switch from Sao Paulo was secured in February 2020. He also starred in the Under-23 selection which won international gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and has been called up by the senior side for next month’s World Cup 2022 qualifiers.
Bundesliga giants Bayern had been leading the chase for the winger’s signature, but they are to be challenged by their Catalan counterparts.
Any move is expected to take place next summer.
