Prime Video and BBC Studios have launched BBC Player and BBC Kids on Prime Video Channels in India. The subscription-based service will provide Indian viewers with a curated slate of popular British content ranging from world-class original British dramas, comedies, documentaries, fact shows, entertainment to lifestyle programming and children’s shows, all in one destination, for the first time in India.
BBC Player and BBC Kids collaborate with Prime Video channels to make a grand entrance in India
BBC Player will be a comprehensive multi-genre content offering including BBC Kids, an international children’s brand from BBC Studios. Be intrigued by the crime thriller Six Four, get access to content for the first time in India like the British political thriller The Diplomat, and enjoy humorous titles like the comedy-drama Chivalry and the sitcom Citizen Khan. These will sit alongside riveting, plot-driven thrillers and thrillers such as Sherlock, Unforgotten, starring Sanjeev Bhaskar, and the BAFTA-winning Happy Valley.
Some other shows include the motoring show Top Gear, the clifftop baking battle at The Great British Bake Off, a documentary about Donald Trump, The Trump Show, BAFTA TV award-winning medical comedy drama This is Going to Hurt starring Ben Whishaw, mystery drama The North Water starring Colin Farrell, romantic drama The Pursuit of Love starring Lily James and Dominic West, real-life experiences of London’s West Indian community at Small Ax with John Boyega, documentary series on climate activist Greta Thunberg Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World, and dance entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing, the original British version of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
BBC Kids will offer highly acclaimed children’s programs from BBC Studios aimed at the 0-12 age group, as a separate subscription. Shows like Hey Duggee, Go Jetters, JoJo & Gran Gran, Sarah & Duck, Junior Bake Off, among others.
