Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal will dedicate 80 ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ to the people of the state at an event in Ludhiana on Friday.
With this, 580 ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ will be operational in the state to provide free and quality health services to the people. Up to 100 such clinics were opened in the first phase and 404 dedicated to the people in the second phase, an official said.
Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, these clinics provide quality treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people at no cost. So far, 25.63 lakh patients across the state have benefited from these clinics, it added.
Forty-one diagnostic tests are available at these clinics at no cost. As of April 30, 1.78 lakh patients had undergone these tests, according to the official. “These clinics have helped the government to prepare a database to check the various diseases prevalent in the state and combat them effectively,” the official said, adding that 80 medicines are provided free of charge to patients at the ‘Aam Clinics. Admi’.
The most used drugs are those for hypertension, diabetes, skin diseases and seasonal outbreaks such as viral fever, etc.
