Governor of Western Australia Kim Beazley says US President Joe Biden has been “pretty robust in defence†in terms of his decisions surrounding Afghanistan.
“I remember when I was ambassador of the United States – whenever there was a discussion about increasing this or that activity associated with Afghanistan, particularly any raising of troop numbers – Biden was always, almost, the only holdout saying ‘no, don’t do this’,” Mr Beazley told Sky News host Catherine McGregor.
“From Biden’s point of view, this is simply a decision they’ve taken in American strategic interest.”
