Biden has been ‘pretty robust in defence’ on decisions surrounding Afghanistan

Governor of Western Australia Kim Beazley says US President Joe Biden has been “pretty robust in defence” in terms of his decisions surrounding Afghanistan.

"I remember when I was ambassador of the United States - whenever there was a discussion about increasing this or that activity associated with Afghanistan, particularly any raising of troop numbers - Biden was always, almost, the only holdout saying ‘no, don't do this’," Mr Beazley told Sky News host Catherine McGregor.

“From Biden's point of view, this is simply a decision they’ve taken in American strategic interest."
