DUBAI: “Breaking Bad” star Giancarlo Esposito announced he had embraced Islam during his stay in Saudi Arabia, said General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh.
In a post on X Alalshikh said Esposito recited The Shahada and joined members of the production team in prayer at a mosque while filming “7 Dogs.”
Best known for his role as Gustavo Fring in “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” Esposito is an acclaimed actor and name in Hollywood.
Alalshikh said the actor expressed appreciation for the community and the hospitality he experienced during filming.

In a video shared on social media, Esposito is shown praying alongside members of the production team inside a mosque.
The film “7 Dogs” brings together a major Arab ensemble featuring Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz, and international actors including Esposito and German Indonesian star Max Huang.
