BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police Detectives have identified 21-year-old Cheadrick Porter as a suspect in the shooting that killed a teenage boy and wounded a young woman at about 1 p.m. Saturday at Azure Point Apartments in the 6300 block of Chinn Lane off the Eastex Freeway in north Beaumont.
The shooting resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy and injuries to a 19-year-old woman who is in stable condition.
Witnesses on scene told KFDM the shooting followed an altercation in an apartment between the suspect and the victims.
They heard multiple gunshots ring out.
One witness told us she saw the female shooting victim in the parking lot and she asked for help, saying she’d been shot in the arm. The witness helped place pressure on her arm to stop the flow of blood.
Police placed more than a dozen evidence markers on the ground in a parking lot.
Police have arrest warrants for Porter for Murder and Aggravated Assault.
