BREAKING. Rahman Ravelli enters administration | ICLG

Clients asked to transfer cases as financial crime specialist appoints administrators without explaining the reasons for its failure.

White-collar crime and commercial litigation boutique Rahman Ravelli has entered administration, with clients being asked to arrange the transfer of their cases to other law firms.

Andrew Hosking and Jamie Taylor of BTG Advisory were appointed joint administrators of Rahman Ravelli Solicitors Ltd on 20 October 2026, according to a notice published on the firm’s website. The notice gives no indication of why the firm failed, the scale of its debts or whether a buyer is being sought.

Founded in 2001, the practice built its reputation on financial crime, cross-border investigations and complex commercial disputes. Its work spans corporate and individual clients, with expertise covering bribery, money laundering, sanctions, asset recovery and civil fraud. The firm works out of offices in London and Halifax, West Yorkshire.

The appointment follows a report by TheBusinessDesk on 7 October that the firm had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators. That earlier step provides temporary protection against creditor action while a company considers its options. The publication named Hosking and Taylor as advisers to the practice at that stage.

Companies House records also show that Syed Rahman ceased to be a director on 19 August 2026 with the termination filed the following day. He has since joined Keystone Law as a partner. Yesterday (22 October), he wrote on LinkedIn: “Rahman Ravelli has been a huge part of my life, both professionally and personally. I will always be grateful for the opportunities I was given, the people I worked alongside and everything I learnt along the way. I leave with lasting friendships, fond memories of what we achieved together and a genuine appreciation for the people who made that journey so special.”

Making no mention of the administration, he continued: “Keystone felt like a natural next step for me, offering the opportunity to continue building my international disputes and investigations practice, while working alongside an impressive group of lawyers across a wide range of disciplines.”

The administration notice says case handlers have sought instructions about future representation and will arrange transfers of files and client funds to their clients’ chosen firms. “You have complete freedom of choice to instruct any solicitor and/or law firm of your complete choosing,” it states.

Samantha Palmer of Child & Child Law has been appointed solicitor manager. The notice says funds held in the regulated client account are unaffected by the administration and will be transferred in accordance with clients’ instructions. Closed and archived files are being stored securely online by the administrators.
