Brickworks looking for alternatives to fossil fuels to ‘fire their kilns’

Brickworks Managing Director Lindsay Partridge says the company is working to find fossil fuel alternatives to fire their kilns.

“We use already a lot of renewable fuels, we use biomass in some plants,” he told Sky News Australia.

“We use gas from landfill in a couple of the plants.

“And we’re looking at setting up an arrangement with a company – unfortunately I can’t mention their name at the moment – where we’re actually going to produce our own synthetic natural gas that will be produced out of food waste.”
