Brickworks Managing Director Lindsay Partridge says the company is working to find fossil fuel alternatives to fire their kilns.
“We use already a lot of renewable fuels, we use biomass in some plants,†he told Sky News Australia.
“We use gas from landfill in a couple of the plants.
“And we’re looking at setting up an arrangement with a company – unfortunately I can’t mention their name at the moment – where we’re actually going to produce our own synthetic natural gas that will be produced out of food waste.â€
