British tea needs to speak English again

Afternoon tea was enjoyed while seated on a sofa in the drawing room. High tea was imbibed at the dining table (which has higher chairs) usually in the late afternoon or early evening, with something savory — hence “tea” in some parts of the UK is what a lot of the English-speaking world calls ‘supper’.
