WHAT ARE ROUND! Both men come flying out of the corner taking to the middle of the ring to stand and trade with each other. I would love to know what was said in each guy’s corner because this is sensational. However, a clash of heads against the ropes sees Crawford sustain what looks like a cut above his eye. Thankfully, the fight continues and it is Canelo who gets the better of the exchanges at the end of the round after being caught flush a few times prior.

Crawford starts the round with a flurry of body shots. He follows up with a right to the body but Canelo shakes his head implying it was low before looking to walk Bud down and throw that shovel left hook he’s so well known for. A beautiful right hand catches Crawford and excites the fans but Crawford wears it well smiling back at the Mexican.

Canelo’s bottom lip has dropped, could it be a sign of fatigue? The power in his shots suggest not but we’ll have to see how the fight progresses. Meanwhile, Crawford remains light on his feet, touching with the lead hand and making Canelo move. That said, he’s not causing a whole lot of damage with his shots. Probably the least entertaining round so far.

Canelo went on to land an uppercut to the body which must have taken some wind out of Bud, before being caught with what he was calling a “low blow”.

Lovely work from Crawford in the opening 30 seconds sees him counter Canelo, landing flush on the Mexican’s chin with an uppercut. Canelo wears it well and looks to walk Crawford down before landing a straight right to the face. The round ends with a lovely shot from Canelo. It wobbles Crawford but he turns and smiles to the crowd.

Canelo is looking to throw the overhand right but has found himself lunging in at times looking a little off balance. Crawford is yet to make him pay but we know he is capable.

Canelo is looking to land those powerful single shots and is enjoying relative success. While Crawford continues to guage the distance with that lead hand and counter Canelo with quickfire combinations. Despite being the “smaller man” Crawford has done well to walk Canelo down towards the end of the round.

It was Crawford who threw first while Canelo looked to creep forward behind that high guard he’s so well known for. The Mexican did manage to land a lovely shovel left hook to the body with a minute left on the clock, but Crawford responded with a combination of his own.
