Cape Town City and Maritzburg United still can’t seem to win after the two sides played to a 0-0 draw at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday night.
The two teams went into the encounter desperate for maximum points after failing to achieve that in their opening three league games.
The Citizens had recorded three consecutive defeats while the Team of Choice had drawn two and suffered a single loss.
Now, both teams were expected to raise their game, and do whatever they could to try and get three points but it wasn’t to be as the game ended in a dull draw.
Eric Tinkler had to contend with the absence of goalkeeper Hugo Marques who is set to leave City due to pressing family issues as reported on The South African website.
Darren Keet started in goal while new signing Wayde Lekay settled for a place on the bench before coming on 11 minutes from time for Khanyisa Mayo.
The result leaves City rock-bottom with a single point from four games while Maritzburg United are 13th on the log with three points from four games.
