Similar to how corporations work, paramilitary forces like the CRPF, BSF, ITBP and others will soon be able to apply for, grant and register licenses on an online portal, moving from a lengthy offline process.
According to an official communication from the CRPF, the online license application system will significantly reduce the time it takes to complete the approval cycle. It is also expected to reduce licensing-related complaints by allowing for more transparency.
It is also designed to help manage and plan staff leave during elections and other operations, and maintain the operational force through real-time monitoring.
Previously, the leave balance of a CAPF employee could only be consulted through the service book. If an employee was off duty and required leave in emergency situations, the only way to check the employee’s leave balance was at the office where the duty record is maintained. The process took days causing inconvenience to the staff. The paperwork and approval process also hampered maintaining transparency.
Under the new system, an employee’s service record would be available at the click of a button where, with the approval of senior officials, leave details would be automatically updated. Staff can also remotely track your leave details.
