The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured extradition of Red Notice subject Prabhdeep Singh from Azerbaijan to India.
Singh is wanted in connection with a case registered at Delhi Police’s special cell police station under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1958.
Substantial quantity of narcotics was recovered and several co-accused persons were arrested in the abovementioned case.
Singh was allegedly the main organiser of the narcotics racket, CBI sources said.
At the request of Delhi Police, the CBI had got a Red Notice published against him through INTERPOL channels.
After geo-locating Singh, he was arrested by the Azerbaijan authorities and an extradition request was sent to them.
Following due legal process, he was successfully extradited to India.
A three-member escort team of Delhi Police visited Baku, Azerbaijan to bring him back. The team along with Singh reached Delhi today.
