CdS: Cesare Casadei on Lazio radar

Bit of speculation from Corriere dello Sport on Monday about the “idea” of Cesare Casadei at Lazio, who are looking to reinforce their midfield, specifically the No.10 position but also just in general.

Casadei isn’t the priority, but he is apparently on their radar, just as he was in January, when the idea was for a loan with an obligation, but also a buyback clause. But Casadei ended up coming back to Chelsea in January from his loan at Leicester City, where he, incidentally, had been playing for Enzo Maresca, who is now the new Chelsea head coach. Casadei was certainly more involved at Leicester than he was at Chelsea, but that’s no guarantee of anything for next season despite Maresca’s presence.

So it is entirely conceivable that the 21-year-old former Inter Milan prospect would need to head out on loan once again, and a team with aspirations in the Serie A, plus some European football (Europa League), wouldn’t be the worst destination.
