Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher took to Facebook to condemn the “disturbing video”, saying any form of bullying was not acceptable.

“Any form of bullying, and especially one involving this level of violence is disgusting, unacceptable and has no place in our society and especially not in our schools,” he wrote.

“Any situation that threatens the safety and wellbeing of students, staff or others in the school community is treated extremely seriously, and dealt with as a matter of priority.”

Mr Butcher said the Department of Education was working with the families of the students involved and would continue to support them.

“The students in the video have been dealt with in line with the school’s Responsible Behaviour Plan,” he wrote.

“No further details can be provided due to student privacy issues.”

The Department of Education has been contacted for comment.
