M6 traffic is building as police, firefighters and paramedics were scrambled to the busy motorway after a truck overturned. One person has been freed from the lorry following the incident on the northbound carriageway.
Three lanes have had to be closed off between Junction 17 and 18.
Four fire engines from Crewe, Sandbach, Middlewich and Winsford, and the major rescue unit from Winsford.
A statement issued by Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters were called to rescue one person from a lorry that had overturned on its side.
“Crews were able to free the casualty and assess them on the scene. It is believed their injuries are non-life-threatening, and the casualty was handed over to paramedics.
“Police and Highways are also on scene and lanes one to three are closed while the motorway is cleared. Firefighters are assisting to make the area safe.”
