Chaos on major motorway as horror crash between car and van spark closure

A National Highway spokesperson said: “The M20 remains closed between J8–J9 while police carry out essential investigation work following last nights incident.

“Traffic Officers have dealt with a spillage at the location. The eastbound carriageway remains fully closed to facilitate a detailed police investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

“Recovery and investigation activity is ongoing, and further updates will follow as the situation develops.

“This work is essential to support their enquiries and to ensure the safety of anyone travelling through the area once the road is restored.

“Recovery teams and Traffic Officers remain on scene, and the road will reopen once it is safe to do so. Expect delays as the morning progresses.”
