Chevron stated Monday that employees at two massive natural-gas operations in Australia have voted in favor of latest labor agreements, ending a dispute that has rattled world gasoline markets.
“Chevron Australia is happy to substantiate the proposed enterprise agreements for frontline area operations staff at our Gorgon and Wheatstone gasoline services have been supported by nearly all of staff in a vote,” a spokesperson for the U.S. vitality big stated in an emailed assertion.
The agreements will now be despatched to Australia’s Honest Work Fee–the nation’s labor regulator–for approval, the spokesperson stated.
Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone services account for roughly 7% of the world’s liquefied natural-gas provide and analysts had cautioned that disruptions to manufacturing because of the dispute may lead to extra competitors globally for LNG cargoes.
