Chisago County union workers will be heading back to work after county leaders approved a new deal on Monday morning following over 120 days of striking.
The 122-day strike from workers makes it the longest county strike and the second longest overall strike in Minnesota.

The union, which represents 170 Chisago County workers, announced a three-year deal with the county last week and Monday’s final vote brings government center professionals and health and human services workers back to work.
The union said key issues in the agreement include a 20.5% wage increase over three years and better health insurance.
Union leaders say this is a “Historic settlement.”

The Chisago County administrator said the deal is similar to what the county offered in June but it adds another year.
