Serial liar rep. Jorge Santos (RN.Y.) reportedly suffered another setback on Wednesday with the resignation of its communications director.
“With respect to my colleagues, the people of New York and, most importantly, myself, I am honored to tender my resignation,” Naysa Woomer wrote in her resignation email, she reported. Scripps News. “Unfortunately, he never took a point of the professional advice given to him,” he added in a clear dig at Santos.
Last week, Santos was indicted on 13 federal counts, including allegations that he pocketed campaign donations. He has denied all the accusations.
He too signed an agreement with prosecutors in Brazil to avoid prosecution for stolen check forgery.
Woomer joined Santos’ team in January after holding communications positions with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and the Massachusetts Republican Party. Woomer did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
