Town of Yarra, Australia has launched a reverse merchandising machine for recycling beverage containers at Collingwood Leisure Centre, in keeping with an announcement on the town’s web site. The machine is a part of the state of Victoria’s container deposit scheme which launched in November.
The reverse merchandising machines permit residents to be reimbursed 10 cents for recycling eligible cartons, plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans between 10 milliliters and one liter.
Preparations are being made to put in reverse merchandising machines at three extra areas throughout the municipality.
