Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman recently held a concert in Pune. While the concert was going well, the police intervened and asked them to cancel it due to time constraints. This disappointed thousands of viewers and fans.
The event was held in a large outdoor venue at Rajbahadur Mills, with many people enjoying some of Rahman’s most popular songs. However, at exactly 10 pm, a senior police officer ordered the organizers to stop the show immediately because the allotted time had been exceeded.
The policeman approached the music legend when he was performing his smash hit “Chal Chhaiya, Chhaiyaa” at the time and demanded that the show be stopped immediately. The legendary music director adhered to his instructions.
The audience, who had been enjoying the event for more than two hours, voiced their strong disagreement with a loud uproar as soon as the police officer took the stage and Rahman was signaled to end his performance.
Without causing a stir or uttering any comment, the artist calmly left the stage. Despite continued cries of discontent from the crowd, the concert came to an end, and early in the morning the venue emptied without incident.
On Monday, AR Rahman took to his Instagram account and shared photos from the event. The actor did not write anything about the incident; however, he mentioned that he would return to Pune. Her caption read: “Pune! Thank you for all the love and euphoria last night! It was a roller coaster of concerts! No wonder Pune is home to so much classical music! We’ll be back soon to sing with all of you again.”
